Morna International
College is a privately owned, independent school
which provides education based on the English
National Curriculum and adapted to the needs of an
international mix of students.
The school covers the whole of the 3 to 18 age
range, with one class in each year group and a total
of almost 300 students. There are 15 different
nationalities, the main four being English, Spanish,
German and Dutch.
Morna International College is located near to the
village of Santa Gertrudis in Ibiza on a 35000m2
site in attractive rural surroundings.
The campus has purpose built classrooms which
include specialied facilities such as a science
laboratory, computer room, music and art rooms and a
library. There is also a dining room and kitchen
area. Sports facilities consist of two multi-purpose
courts, one of which has an artificial grass
surface, as well as a highly original fitness trail
in a section of woodlands on the site and access to
a local swimming pool.
The site also has excellent outdoor play facilities
including covered spaces for shade or rainy days,
and an open air arena for theatre productions. The
Infants section has its own independent indoor and
outdoor activity areas.
Philosophy and aims
Morna International College aims to:
Provide a curriculum, which complies with the
requirements of the English National Curriculum with
the necessary adaptations to be able to offer an
appropriate education to pupils from English,
Spanish and German backgrounds as well as other
nationalities from Ibiza’s international community.
Provide the opportunity to attain internationally
recognised qualifications which will allow pupils to
access higher education.
Provide teaching and resources that allow all pupils
to fulfill their potential and develop into
confident and independent learners.
Provide a school environment in which learning is an
enjoyable process and in which pupils feel
sufficiently encouraged and supported, along with
sufficient monitoring, tutoring and assessment to
ensure that individual needs are recognised and
catered for.
Provide an environment and an education which
encourage self discipline, tolerance, international
understanding, collaboration and care for others.
Provide an education which caters for all aspects of
children’s development, supplementing the academic
curriculum with sports, activities and social
events.
Provide sufficient support to ensure that children
for whom English is not a first language are able to
benefit from all aspects of an English-medium
education.
Offer means by which parents can collaborate with
the school in the interests of their children
Authorisation
Morna International College is recognised as a
British school in Spain and authorised via
inspection by the National Association of British
Schools in Spain (NABSS). It is also a full member
of NABSS and a member of the Spanish private schools
association (ACADE).
The school is a recognised examination centre for
both Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and
EdExcel.
